Men's ministry

about us

“The Spirit-filled life is not, as many suppose, a life of peace and quiet pleasure. It is likely something quite the opposite… if we want to escape the struggle we have but to draw back… that is all Satan wants. Compromise will take the pressure off. Satan will not bother a man who has quit fighting. But the cost of quitting will be a life of peaceful stagnation. We Sons of Eternity simply cannot afford such a thing.” – A W Tozer

VISION

“To fight the good fight of faith and lay hold of eternal life” (1 Tim 6:12)

MISSION

“Fight the good fight of faith”

Realize that we are in a battle, a battle for our families, friends, neighbors, ourselves. Encourage men to be courageous, to overcome fear and discouragement, never letting it keep him from God’s will. (Ephesians 6:10-18) (1 Peter 5:8)

“Lay hold of eternal life to which you were also called”

God has given us the gift of salvation and a life of eternity spent with Him. Receive God’s gift of salvation and live victorious in that knowledge; to glorify God by walking worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him and being fruitful both at work and at home. (John 3:16) (Romans 5:8-9) (2 Cor 6:2) (Heb 4:16)

“Confess the good confession in the presence of many witnesses”

As men we desire to love Jesus and to make his love known. (Acts 1:8), (1 Peter 3:15)

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A MAN TODAY?

That is getting to be a difficult question for this generation to answer. I believe America has been on the decline because the understanding of what it is to be a man is on the decline. The heroes of the past were honest, heroic, self-sacrificing, and sought to do what was right. Where the heroes of today are Hollywood actors, rock stars and sports figures that glorify self- satisfying pleasure. It seems to me the best way to discover how to be a real man is to look at those in the past where true men who were not ashamed to glorify their maker and to seek to follow after God. Real men are rare and yet if we look they can still be found. History has shown us where to find men of courage who were not afraid to stand with God when everyone else was against Him. This year we are going to study the life of such a man – a man who faced real giants and real warfare and was victorious. We will study the life of Joshua and learn where he found his strength and courage. It is there that we will learn the meaning of what it is to be a man of God and it is then we will find victory in our lives today. Join us in the battle as we seek to bring God glory – together as His sons of eternity.
