AWANA

AWANA is a new program to Calvary Chapel, but has been established and effective since 1941. They have programs; materials and training that reach kids with the gospel and train them for Christian service. AWANA is the only organization with fully integrated evangelism and discipleship programs that actively involve parents, church leaders, and mentors, for ages 2 to 18.
Here at Calvary Chapel, we are using 3 of the 6 clubs; ages 3 - 12 years.

Starting with "Cubbies", for preschoolers: 3 years old (by Sept.) and 4 years old. Kids learn lessons like: "God loved us and sent His Son". 1 John 4:10. Kids work at a small pace, one lesson a week. The group stays together! This is a sweet time of childhood, they learn through repetition and Bible stories, to memorize God's Word, and hide it in their hearts.

Next is the "Sparks Club", this is designed for kids in Kindergarten, through to 2nd grade.
John 3:16 is the theme bible verse. " For God so loved the world, that He sent His One and Only Begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him, will not perish, but will have everlasting life". These kids are full of energy, questions and competitiveness. They want to cross the finish line and receive the jewels. They are eager, to learn how wonderful the LORD is!!!

Last, we have the "Truth & Training Club", they start in 3rd grade and run through 6th grade. These kids have the same verses, as the "Cubbies" and "Sparks” clubs have, but now they are adding paragraphs, to the same verse! These kids do topical studies. Their theme verse is: 2nd Tim. 2:15 - "Do your best to present yourself to God, as one Approved, a Workman who does not need to be Ashamed and who correctly handles the Word of truth." That's where the acronym comes from: Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed!!!!

AWANA clubs, want to train and teach your child/ren to be diligent in seeking the LORD, to develop spiritually strong patterns of discipline, to read God's Word and searching for God's will, for their lives. AWANA teaches kids, to love scripture, and hide it in their hearts!!! Please join our new team. The field is white and ready for harvest, but few are those that work. AWANA's goal is that your children will follow the Savior for LIFE!!!!
