CALVARY CHAPEL CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
Statement of Philosophy
Calvary Chapel Christian School welcomes children of all cultural, ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds. Our school proudly reflects love for all children. As a nondenominational Christian school, Calvary Chapel Christian School provides a safe, loving environment in which children may develop spiritually, socially, physically and academically in the knowledge of God’s word. Our school has a strong emphasis of building solid basic learning concepts.
In accordance with Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it,” our school serves as an extension of the educational training in the home and the church.
Our program is based on the following concepts:
God has created each child uniquely in His image and has given
that child special talents which should be developed and enhanced
in a manner that is glorifying to God.
The way a child should go is clearly stated in terms of Christian
character development as revealed through the Word of God. Every
classroom uses Biblical stories as well as contemporary children’s
literature which identify Christ-like characteristics that enhance
the quality of their life (i.e., reverence to God, love for neighbors,
kindness, obedience, patience, etc.), and point the way to personal
faith and trust in Jesus, for eternal life.
Training should be appropriate for the child’s developmental
level, even though it may not necessarily coincide with chronological
age.
A well structured learning environment is essential to developing
good academic skills and helping children to feel secure and free
to enjoy their school experiences.
Children “blossom” when they are nurtured with love and praise, toward self-discipline and confidence in their own abilities.
